Leave of Absence — General Principles and Types

Leave of absence is authorised absence on public-policy grounds and is approved without pay by the Civil Service Commission or similar body on the recommendation of the Head of Service. Chapter 12 identifies categories involving joining a spouse, health/public policy, Technical Aid, non-elective political appointments and specified spouses of political office holders.
