Medical Certificates for Sickness and How They Are Obtained
The medical certificates issued in connection with staff sickness are the Excuse Duty Certificate (Form Med. 166), Light Duty Certificate (Form Med. 167), Medical Certificate of Treatment, and certificates issued by hospitals run by a State Government Agency. An officer may obtain a certificate by presenting himself to the appropriate Medical Officer for examination or by forwarding to the Medical Officer at his station a detailed sickness report from the Private Medical Practitioner/Traditional Medical Practitioner attending him, after which the Medical Officer decides which certificate to issue.
